Research interests
- Food studies
Background
My research focuses on the intersection of food practices, class identity and the migrant experience. I aim to uncover the ways in which high skilled, intra-European migrants understand and negotiate their pre and post migration class identities by cultural means, focusing on food related practices. Using qualitative research methods and through the lens of food practices, I am looking into the migrant experiences of individuals belonging to the newest wave of Spanish migrants in Edinburgh ( part of the migrant wave resultant of 2007 global economic downturn).
