The event will involve presentations from social work students and discussions on the themes of understanding transformational change, co-building peaceful communities, communities and nature co-exist in harmony, and using indigenous wisdom in transformation.

As we navigate the multifaceted challenges of today’s world, from violent conflicts to environmental crises, the principle of “Buen Vivir” guides social workers to prioritise true well-being, which is rooted in community and harmony with nature. As we approach World Social Work Day, this theme serves as a timely reminder of the transformative role social workers play in driving positive change and fostering communities that thrive on mutual respect and sustainability…where communities and nature coexist in harmony a future where social workers will, together with local people co-design and co-build peaceful communities critical to our shared sustainable futures.” –International Federation of Social Workers.
