Description

By applying empirical methods and statistical analysis, quantitative research helps social workers understand patterns, measure variables accurately, and establish relationships between them. This approach is vital in an area of practice that directly affects individual lives and communities. This seminar will overview the application of quantitative research to social work. First, it will cover broad concepts and methodological concerns. Second, it will summarize and reflect upon two case studies, one in the United States and one in China. It is hoped that attendees will gain a better understanding of how quantitative methods can, and should, be welcomed into social work practice spaces.
