Dr James Herbert is a Senior Research Fellow at the Australian Centre for Child Protection, University of South Australia. He has led research and evaluation projects focusing on effective multi-agency responses to child sexual abuse and barriers to therapy following a disclosure of abuse. This work has included the evaluation of Australia’s first Child Advocacy Centre and a national survey of the characteristics of Child Advocacy Centres in the United States. His research interests span across social policy areas, with a particular interest in the translation of research into policy and practice.
