Prof. Charlotte Hanlon is a mental health researcher who has recently taken up a Chair of Global Mental Health at University of Edinburgh. Charlotte works on interventions, services and system strengthening to improve outcomes for people experiencing mental illness in the Global South. She current co-leads an NIHR global health research group (HOPE) on homelessness and mental health in Africa (Ethiopia, Ghana and Kenya) and a Wellcome grant to study contexts of psychoses in Ethiopia to inform interventions. Charlotte was privileged to live and work in Ethiopia for many years and is committed to capacity strengthening and increasing equity in partnerships.
